In the last two decades the theater scene has tended to nurture the field of dance, dancers and choreographers have entered the theater, and in turn , actors and actresses have danced the main events organized dance companies in the country.

Today as ever, performing arts entrench its interdisciplinary nature. It is now unified, as happened some time ago with the "dithyramb" manifestation of the Greek theater where music, dance and drama served the same purpose ritual. In our time, from the 20's of last century came a new genre that unites these two art forms into a single concept: dance theater.
In this new way to dance, the artists are trying to find the particular identity and express their emotions in movements grounded in dramatic motivations.
Many dance artists in Europe and the U.S. have created this tenedencia styles of contemporary dance. One of the most recent figures is Pina Bausch, choreographer who has ventured into issues of irony, in addition to experiencing a variety of forms of expression of human conflict.
Many of our artists are trained in liberal-oriented workshops and international festivals by these masters of contemporary dance or his disciples, and today is a remarkable influence of these great figures in world dance in the Dominican proposals. Professor Edmund

What has always been popular in the course of the History of Theatre in the events of mankind . In the Dominican Republic this trend gaining momentum in the decades of 70 and 80, which together with a great cultural movement awake at that time, a youthful effervescence eager to gain social and political demands.

Guloya Theatre The drama group is a stable group of representatives from the most faithful exponents of popular theater in the country, since the beginning of its founders, Claudio González Rivera and Vienna, in the eighties in the INTEC Projections Theatre has been a consistent pattern of his career.

Guloya Theatre in participating in the National Theatre Festival (2010) joins the popular, the circus and the madness in sight, with a strong socio-political intent, to bridge the gap between dementia and reality today.

TATEHIKO GOTO Santo Domingo brings art education recycling ideas and creativity from materials found in the city. The Japanese artist presents a novel way creative vision of "art object" that intervenes with their hands in order to produce aesthetic works by forking paths of the imagination in the realization of two-and three-dimensional objects, in spite of the apparent naivety of everyday images presented, awakens the senses, surprise and delight.

all started one day in Japan 30 years ago, by chance, observing the clothes pegs on the table in the house. The artist says: "I felt a strange feeling" ... That simple act was a great encouragement to his creative imagination. Thereafter, he began a long career that led him to exhibit their work inside and outside the country, with important exhibitions in New Delhi and the Yokohama Museum of Art, being recognized seventeen times, for the Grand Prize Exhibition .

Today, Santo Domingo is the theme and setting of his creations with objects found in the streets, buildings and costs of our city.
